Just thought I’d put up a quick post about what’s been going on lately. Well things feel like that they’ve slowed down a little bit and we’ve just been getting into the normal routine, although on the other side of the planet.
We went to Barcelona again in late October. We had a great time and it actually felt like a holiday because we did a lot of relaxing. We weren’t in a rush to see all of the sights like last time and I loved the cheap shopping compared to London.
Rach and I went for a shopping expo one weekend at a complex called Bluewater. This place is huge. We spent all day there and I didn’t see all of the floor space. It has over 300 stores, all in the one mall. Believe it or not though I walked away with nothing and Rach walked away with a winter coat and a few other things.
My work had a Halloween party which was pretty good fun as most people got into the whole theme pretty good. I went as the usual scream out fit, as it was cheap, easy and provided a good level of mystery as to who was under the mask. Some photos from the party can be found here:

We had a party at our house two weeks ago and it was looking to be a flop due to an abysmal turnout, but in the end it turned out to be a big hit with the attendees. Needless to day I woke up with a headache, drank a Berocca and Nurofen, went to bed and didn’t wake up till after 3 pm.
One night after work I went too some photos of the London Eye with it’s Christmas red coloured lights on, as well as some photos of Big Ben. The photos can be found here:

Rach and I have been hitting the cinemas quite a bit lately. We’ve gone four weeks in a row. We’ve seen Saw 3, The Departed, 007 – Casino Royale and The Prestige. We saw Casino Royale at the massive Odeon cinema in Leicester Square. It’s where the movie premiers occur in London for all the big ticket movies. It’s the nights where the celebrities line up on the red carpet. The cinema was huge. We paid for a premium seat up high in the stalls and the movie was excellent and well worth it.
Last weekend Rach and I went to an outdoor ice skating rink at Somerset house. I’d always wanted to ice skate on an outdoor rink and the reviews of this place said it was an excellent place to go and looked very pretty at night. We went during the day and it had rained earlier in the day so the ice was covered in large pools of water. It definitely would have ruined your day if you fell over in the huge ice cold puddles. It didn’t help either that my skates were blunt as a pencil eraser. An excellent time was had but I think we’ll go to a bigger one next time so I can stretch my legs out a little. A big well done goes out to Rachel for her skating abilities. She didn’t once fall over and had no problems with it all. She never went near the rails either. Check out the photos here:

What’s next in sight for us both? At this stage we’re going to be staying in London for Christmas and New Years Eve. In January we’re planning on going to Dubai. In February we’re going to the Venice Carnivale with Nat and Mark.
